Taranaki Civil Defense issued a weather warning for Taranaki on Monday morning, and they weren’t wrong.
Between 100-160mm of rain was expected between 9am and 6pm.
The South Taranaki District Council were seen around Hawera unplugging blocked drains and dealing with the flooding caused.
A severe weather warning has been issued by Metservice for Mt Taranaki today between 9.00AM and 6.00PM.
Expect 110 to 150mm of rain, this is in addition to the rain that has already fallen. Peak rates of 30 to 40mm per hour, especially in thunderstorms this afternoon.

A Metservice spokesperson said the current forecast for the Taranaki region is looking to fine up after todays rain and should remain that way for a few days.
