State Highway 45 a dumping ground for local filth

South Taranaki residents, particularly those in Manaia are disgusted at the view they’re getting on their way to Hawera and vice versa and have been taking it upon themselves to clean it up.

For months now, bags of rubbish have been seen scattered along the stretch of road between the Manaia and Hawera township’s.

One local actually picked up a broken bin that had been dumped also.

Dumping rubbish is obviously illegal and can be reported to the Taranaki Regional Council by phoning 0800 DUMPING (0800 386 7464) or by filling in this form. If you find dumped rubbish that might pollute a waterway, call 0800 736 222 straight away.
