The Naumai South Taranaki Toastmasters travelled to Hamilton for a national conference recently and returned to Hawera quite chuffed with their winnings.
The club won the award for travel, which is calculated from the number of members attending the conference and the distance they’ve travelled.
Daniel Hovell, was awarded the distinguished Toastmasters Award (DTM) – which is the highest Toastmasters education and leadership award.
He was supported by the club President and vice president of Education, Adrienne Cook, and Jenny Murphy VP Membership and the area director of 4 clubs in Taranaki, as well as members Rob Archibald and David Millar.
Toastmasters is an international organisation that supports it members in building public speaking skills, confidence and leadership capabilities.
Naumai South Taranaki Toastmasters is an open club where all are welcome. The club meets at the Hawera Fire Station meeting room 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, starting at 6:30pm
