Police have now confirmed that the motorcyclist involved in a car vs motorcycle accident near Mokau has died.
The crash was reported to emergency services at around 10am on Waitangi Day on State Highway 3, 2 kilometers South of Mokau.
The road remains closed while investigators work at the scene and motorists are advised to expect delays.
