M2.5 earthquake centred near Hawera barely felt

Geonet have reported a magnitude 2.5 earthquake centred 15kms west of Hawera on Friday at around 6pm.

At a depth of 178km, it was barely felt with only 6 ‘felt reports’ being submitted to the Geonet website.
